Oleander (Nerium oleander)
"Witches'-Broom" Disease
Caused by fungal organism, Sphaeropsis
tumefaciens.Oleanders are very susceptible to this
fungal
infection. This
privacy hedge is dying. There
is no preventative or curative treatment.
Clean and sanitize pruning equipment before
pruning
asymptomatic oleanders, and after pruning
those that are infected. Other highly
susceptible plants that are easily infected
through contaminated pruning tools are:
Hollies (including native Dahoon Holly)
Bottlebrush Trees
Citrus
Southern Wax Myrtle |
